Dune & Qabalah
God sent Dune to me at a time when I faced major restrictions. As a Jew, a student and practitioner of Universal Mystique Wisdom, the Qabalah, I soon started to recognize in Duna elements hidden in old books, I say former because they were revealed more than 2,000 years.
I'll try to get at what's on my mind now, a matter of the Messiah as revealed in the Zohar for 2,000 years.
The Zohar says: “After 1266 years, we're told, God shall perform many miracles and wonders, and after another 66 years, the Holy Name will be perfectly engraved, above and below. After a further 132 years, the Holy Land will be purified and God will shake the wicked from the earth and raise the dead. Finally, 144 years later, the remaining dead of Yisrael who are in other lands will also be raised, and the Other Side will be destroyed”.
I studied very hard this portion of the Zohar, and always with Dune in my thoughts, and soon a secret was revealed to me that here was related to the year in which Dune won his two major awards (Hugo & Nebula) with age as the Master Frank Herbert chose to hide this world.

This secret is hidden in the numbers 1266, 66, 132, 144. By adding them up, I found the result of 1608. After a few moments, "The Voice" came up to me and said: "Some 1608 with the numeric value of the word Messiah in Hebrew."
The word Messiah in Hebrew is "Messiah" and its numerical value (gematria) is 358. Logo 1608 +358 = 1966.
So, the Zohar was written over 2,000 years: “In the year 66, the King Mashiach will appear in the land of Galilee, AND HE IS CALLED MASHIACH BEN YOSEF (MESSIAH, THE SON OF YOSEF) HE WILL THEREFORE APPEAR IN THE GALILEE, IN THE POSSESSION OF YOSEF”.
The Zohar continues showing signs that accompany the appearance of the Messiah: “A pillar of fire reaching from heaven to earth will appear for forty days. At this time, the Messiah will rise in Galilee and begin to wage war on the world from there, because this is where the devastation first began”.
In Dune, when the Duke Leto comes to Arrakis, the Fremen to send him a message: "A column of smoke during the day, a pillar of fire by night." For me it became clear that God had used Frank Herbert for revealing to mankind the mysteries of the rise of the Messiah, and I find out more:
Dune won the Hugo and Nebula in 1966 and Master Frank Herbert hidden from this world at 66. Is this a coincidence? Obviously not, since the evidence add up to more than allowed by the law of chance.
The Zohar emphasizes the residence where the Messiah hidden lives, and frighteningly Frank Herbert also revealed that in Dune
The Zohar says: “There is a concealed place in Eden called "Bird's Nest" which is revealed to the Messiah by the bird that awakens daily in the Garden”.
In Dune the home planet of Paul Muad'Dib is in "Delta Pavonis" in the constellation of Pavo, and the mystical symbol of House Atreides is the "Falcon". Much wonderful information the Holy One, blessed be He, gave to Frank Herbert.
There is much more to write here in my next posts. Byron, thanks for giving me an opportunity to share these wonders.

I know a guy who does prosthetic fangs/teeth and contacts. He has in stock black sclera (full eye) contacts. I'm sure he can get blue ones on request.

The Zohar is the most powerful and influential mystical text of Judaism, revealed more than 2,000 years, while Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai hid from Romans in a "cave" in the provinces of Meron, northern Israel.

There is much more in Dune. Frank Herbert, of blessed memory, reveals to us subliminally, as the Fremen were building their sietchs and caves:
- Uh, we'll see - he said, and waved one of his men: - Coffee with spice in my quarters, Shamir.
- Immediately, Liet.
Here, in this passage, when Paul and Jessica are saved by Liet Kynes, the secret is in the name of "Shamir". The Zohar says:
"There was neither hammer nor ax nor any tool of iron heard in the house (the Temple of Solomon)," because a WORM CALLED CERTAIN shamir (lit. 'Emery') split everything noiselessly, and thus, they did not require other tools. Everything occurred by a miracle. "
Frank Herbert is simply telling us that the Fremen built the Sietch, caves and traps wind miraculously, since they were Zensunni supporters of Muslim mysticism derived from Sufi masters. Also included is the secret of Quisatz Ha-Derack.

Well, I do not know if I get it or you do not understand, but I did not mention religion at any time but the knowledge to wisdom, which in Hebrew is "Da'at" while "religion" is "Dat". In short, religion is a defect, it is written with one letter missing. The missing letter is the "Ayin" the sixteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and that means vision.

I find all this interesting. But I think Frank intentionally made these correlations and references to Jewish mysticism. He was, after all, a very learned man, spending most of his free time reading. I don't think he was a prophet or that he was espousing any particular philosophy.

My friend, I agree with you, I do not believe that the Master Frank Herbert was a prophet, but I believe he was inspired divinely. I do not believe he was defending a belief in particular, like Judaism, precisely because Judaism originated with the Qabalists. But they are very small details found in older books than 40 years ago were not available or easily found.
Well, to finish here, I borrow the words of Alejandro Jorodowsky:
"There is a Hebraic legend which says:" the Messiah will not be a man but one day: the day when all the human beings will be illuminated
